EOS One gives you four distinct controls for managing a V/TO's lifecycle. Each serves a specific purpose and is available in a specific location — knowing the difference prevents accidentally removing a document you still need.

Documents cannot be removed from within the builder. Use the manage page or viewer header instead.
Discard changes
Use Discard changes when you want to throw away edits you've made in the current builder session and return the draft to its last saved state.
The draft itself is not deleted — only the unsaved session changes are removed. The builder's auto-save writes continuously as you type, so Discard changes affects anything you've typed since opening the builder session, not older saved content.
Inside the builder, open the action menu.
Select Discard changes.
Confirm to revert to the last saved state.
Delete (drafts only)
Use Delete to remove a draft you no longer need. Deleted drafts are moved to the Recycle Bin and can be recovered if needed.
Click V/TO from the left navigation bar.
Click Open V/TO Builder to open the manage page.
Find the draft in the Drafts table.
Click the vertical ellipsis next to the draft name.
Select Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
Note: You cannot delete a published Official directly. To remove an Official, use Return to draft first (see below), then delete the resulting draft from the manage page — or use Archive to move it to the Recycle Bin without demoting it.
Archive (Officials only)
Use Archive to move a published Official to the Recycle Bin. This frees up the Official slot for that company or department without requiring you to first demote the document to a draft.
Open the V/TO you want to archive.
Click Archive from the viewer header.
Confirm the action.
The V/TO is moved to the Recycle Bin. If restored, it returns as a Draft.
Return to draft
Use Return to draft when you need to edit or replace a published Official. This demotes the live Official back to Draft status so it can be updated, shared, or deleted — without removing it from EOS One entirely.
This is also required before publishing a new Official for a slot that is already occupied. Each company or department slot can hold only one Official at a time.
Open the published Official you want to demote.
Click Return to draft from the viewer header.
Confirm the action.
The V/TO returns to Draft status and is visible in the Drafts table on the manage page.
Recovering from the Recycle Bin
All deleted and archived V/TOs are sent to the Recycle Bin and can be recovered. Permanent deletion is a separate, explicitly confirmed action taken from within the Recycle Bin itself.
Go to Settings > Organization > Recycle bin.
Find the V/TO you want to recover.
Click Restore.
Restored V/TOs return to the V/TO section as a Draft.
Q&A
Why can't I find a Delete button in the builder?
Deletion is only available from the manage page, not the builder. Open the manage page, find the draft in the Drafts table, and use the vertical ellipsis menu.
I'm getting an error when I try to publish a new Official. What's wrong?
Each slot (company or department) can hold only one Official at a time. Open the current Official for that slot, select Return to draft from the viewer header, then publish the new draft.
What's the difference between Archive and Delete?
Archive applies to published Officials and moves them directly to the Recycle Bin. Delete applies to drafts and also moves them to the Recycle Bin. Both are recoverable. The distinction is purely about which document state each action targets.
