V/TO Rock Sync: Overview and How to Use It

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Intro Summary

The V/TO Rock Sync feature allows Company Rocks from the V/TO to be synced to a connected meeting, removing the need to manually create Rocks in both places.

What This Feature Does

When a V/TO is connected to a meeting, you can sync Company Rocks from the V/TO directly into that meeting’s Rocks list.

This creates a one-way sync from the V/TO to the meeting, helping teams maintain a single source of truth for Company Rocks.

Key points:

  • Rocks created on the V/TO can be pushed into the connected meeting.

  • Synced Rocks appear in the meeting as Company Rocks.

  • Syncing must be triggered manually using the Sync to Meeting button.

How to Connect a V/TO to a Meeting

  1. Open the V/TO.

  2. Locate the "Connect this V/TO to a meeting?" dropdown at the top of the page.

    1. Note: if you do not see the option to connect to a V/TO, please press the "Edit" button on the V/TO so it will appear. This option only appears when editing a V/TO, not when previewing one.

  3. Select the meeting you want to link.

  4. Click Sync to Meeting in the Rocks section.

Once synced, the Rocks will appear in the selected meeting as Company Rocks.

Requirements for a Rock to Sync

A Rock must meet the following requirements to sync to a meeting:

  • The Rock must have a Name.

  • The Rock must have an Owner assigned.

If the Owner field is blank, the Rock will not sync to the meeting.

Important Sync Rules

Sync Direction

The sync is one-way only.

  • Changes made on the V/TO can sync to the meeting.

  • Changes made in the meeting do not sync back to the V/TO.

Removing a Rock from the meeting does not remove it from the V/TO.

Manual Sync Required

The Sync to Meeting button must be clicked to send updates.

You must press Sync to Meeting when:

  • Adding new Rocks

  • Updating Rock names

  • Changing Rock owners

  • Making any edits you want reflected in the meeting

Rock Type

All Rocks synced from the V/TO appear in the meeting as: Company Rocks

This ensures V/TO Rocks remain aligned with the company-level Rocks used in meetings.

One Meeting per V/TO

A V/TO can be linked to only one meeting at a time.

If another V/TO connects to the same meeting:

  • The meeting link will move to the new V/TO

  • The previous V/TO will lose the connection

FAQ

Why didn’t my Rock sync to the meeting?

The Rock must include both:

  • A Name

  • An Owner

If the Owner field is blank, the Rock will not sync.

Why don’t updates appear in the meeting?

Updates require clicking Sync to Meeting. The sync does not run automatically.

If I delete a Rock from the meeting, will it delete from the V/TO?

No. The sync is one-way from the V/TO to the meeting. Removing Rocks from the meeting does not affect the V/TO.
