Accountability Chart Permissions: Overview and How to Use Them

Accountability Chart permissions determine who can view, edit, and publish Accountability Chart drafts within your organization.

Draft permissions help organizations collaborate on Accountability Chart updates while maintaining control over the official published version.

Draft Permissions

By default, Accountability Chart drafts are only accessible to the user who created them and other users with the appropriate permissions.

Owners and Admins

Owners and Admins can:

  • Create Accountability Chart drafts

  • View Accountability Chart drafts

  • Edit Accountability Chart drafts

  • Delete Accountability Chart drafts

  • Share Accountability Chart drafts with other users

  • Publish Accountability Charts using Make Live

Members

Members can:

  • View Accountability Chart drafts when granted View access

  • Edit Accountability Chart drafts when granted Edit access

  • Publish a draft as the official Accountability Chart when granted Edit access

Members cannot:

  • Create Accountability Chart drafts

  • Delete Accountability Chart drafts

  • Publish a draft when they only have View access

Sharing Accountability Chart Drafts

Owners and Admins can grant access to Accountability Chart drafts for collaboration.

Depending on the permission assigned, users may receive:

  • View Access: Allows users to view the draft.

  • Edit Access: Allows users to make changes directly to the draft.

Users with Edit access can save changes directly to the Accountability Chart draft.

A Member with Edit access can also publish the draft as the official Accountability Chart using Make Live.

Live Accountability Charts

When an Accountability Chart draft is complete, an Owner, an Admin, or a Member with Edit access can publish it by clicking "Make Live."

Once an Accountability Chart is made Live:

  • It becomes the organization's official Accountability Chart.

  • Users throughout the organization can view it.

  • Additional visibility settings are not required.

Delegation

Owners and Admins can delegate sections of an Accountability Chart draft to Seat Owners.

When a seat is delegated:

  • The Seat Owner receives a to-do.

  • The to-do includes a link to the Accountability Chart Builder.

  • The user can complete their portion of the Accountability Chart directly within the draft.
